everyone loves wings for super bowl Sunday so here is another wing recipe that offers a different taste from the standard spicy or barbecued wings. the recipe comes from the taste of home cooking school. the ginger ale glaze can actually be used on any type of chicken, grilled or roasted. i roasted the chicken and then used the glaze during the last 10 minutes of baking time.
to make this delicious glaze:
in a sauce pan, mix together 1 standard size can of ginger ale, 2/3 cup honey, 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, crushed red pepper flakes to taste, and chili powder to taste if desired.
simmer the glaze on medium heat until the mixture reduces to a slightly syrupy texture. this may take more than ten minutes, and should be done slowly so as not to burn. when ready to glaze the chicken, add 2 tablespoons of margarine and cook another two minutes until melted. use this glaze at the end of roasting the chicken, or as a basting glaze for chicken on the grill.
garnish the chicken with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
