rosemary rolls


recently i found the pioneer woman cookbook at the library, and decided to try these skillet rolls.  they are semi-homemade, as the recipe calls for frozen unbaked dinner rolls.  this was an excellent recipe and very easy to make.  the rolls are fluffy and delicious. again, this is another holiday only recipe.  i would not want to have a pan of these rolls in the house too often.  they are just that good.

melt one tablespoon of butter in a heavy skillet.  remove from the heat and cool.  place the frozen dinner rolls in the warm skillet, cover and place in a warm place to rise.  i use the oven with the lights turned on.  this technique has always seemed to work well for me.


when the rolls have risen, probably at least three hours, spray the top of the rolls with cooking spray or use melted butter to brush the tops.  sprinkle the rolls with sea salt and chopped rosemary.  bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

serve warm with butter, honey or jam.
