valentine marshmallows

as my Pinterest addiction continues, i have decided to finally try some of those appealing recipes posted on their social media website. i have become spell-bound by some of the beautiful presentations for party ideas and table decorations.

this was an easy recipe for decorating   jumbo marshmallows for either a table center piece or for a hot chocolate party.

these took minutes to prepare and are very tasty too.  i simply melted chocolate, dipped the marshmallows into the chocolate, and then spooned the sprinkles onto the chocolate.

the marshmallows were placed into the mug upright and then into the refrigerator to chill and harden.  after removing from the refrigerator, i placed them into clear bags and tied with red string for storage until using.

cute, fun, and easy.  another great idea from Pinterest.

this is another holiday idea that can be changed based on the color of the sprinkles used.  Halloween sprinkles, Christmas red and green sprinkles, and all the rest of the holiday colors could be easily substituted.

hints:   i used a double boiler to melt the chocolate chunks. i used M and M’s in the mug to hold and position the lollipop sticks to keep the marshmallows from touching each other in the refrigerator.  i also lightly dipped the marshmallows in the chocolate and allowed the excess chocolate to drip off of the marshmallow, prior to spooning on the sprinkles.
