easy entertaining with cheese

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

one of the more trendy ways to entertain is to host a tasting.

cheese is appropriate for a tasting with or without wine, because of the many varieties offered in the market.  there is a cheese for most everyone, with varieties that come from France, England, Spain and Italy easily found at the store.  when wine is added to the tasting, it is fun to serve a different wine with each cheese.

there is no reason to do any cooking when entertaining with wine and cheese.  most everything can be served on boards or flat plates.

i was given the chance to review a set of three Bamboo cutting boards for the blog, which I have found perfect for entertaining.

there is nothing better than having a flat wooden surface to showcase fruits, nuts, a baguette, vegetables and even condiments for the party.  many of today’s entertaining guides suggest using wooden boards, marble or granite slabs or flat trays.  i have found this set of three boards to be perfect for appetizers.

these boards are thick, solid, and smooth for a perfect display.  the party comes together with Bamboo boards very quickly, with style and flair.

i styled the boards with a few things i happened to have on hand.  these would be ideas for when a friend stops over for a chat or even for an unexpected guest at dinner.  use a few water crackers and a small wedge of cheese and place on the smallest of the three boards.  use some crunchy vegetables and a side herbal dip on the second board, and offer sliced crusty bread near a toaster for the largest Bamboo board.  a mango chutney or preserves would be great alongside the bread–or even just butter, honey and jOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAam. fruit flavors are especially tasty with wine and cheese.
