If you are a foodie, you know that Las Vegas is one of the ultimate towns for a wide range of restaurant choices, including everything from breakfast baked goods to late night eating. We visited the city to try out some of my favorite cookbook author’s places to eat. Giada DeLaurentiis opened a restaurant in The Cromwell hotel recently, and we had to try it out for lunch.
The atmosphere, food selection and presentation did not disappoint in the least. Bright, airy, open windows, shaded from the bright sun, with an upscale feel and comfort best describes the space. With a wooden ceiling, an open fire pizza oven and antipasti bar, no detail was left out. With seating overlooking the busy strip, Giada’s choice of space was the first right move. We were told that reservations were being taken one and one-half months in advance for dinner, so we jumped at the chance for a lovely lunch table.
We opted for the Parmigiano-Regiano cheese with wild sage honey with flat-bread for a perfect starter, and then I enjoyed my arugula salad with candied lemon and Parmesan dressing. My husband had a muffuletta sandwich with Italian meats and aged Provolone. Each was served with style, attractive presentation and flair. The candied lemon salad dressing was delicious, as I would expect from watching Giada prepare food for many years on television.
For dessert, we tasted the Chocolate Tiramisu and the Gelato/Sorbetto sample. Both were smooth, creamy, and so refreshing for an afternoon sweet. Again, the presentation and melange of flavors was perfect. So much fun to enjoy California cuisine from an Emmy award-winning chef in her new restaurant. This is a five star place. #Giada #GiadaVegas #GiadaCromwell
